SEDS University Student Rocketry Challenge

The Galactic Heaven Piercer is a multi-stage rocket designed to reach the highest altitude possible, constrained by a 640 N-s impulse limit. The current design features a dual-stage rocket, expected to reach a height of 14050 ft and a velocity of 0.8 mach.

Spaceport America Cup Competition

UNLV's 2020 Spaceport rocket will be competing in the 30,000 ft. commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) propulsion category. The rocket will contain a scientific payload with the purpose of measuring spaceflight on the human spine.

LEVEL 1 WORKSHOPS

Certification for General Members

Led by officers, general members participate in designing a level 1 rocket in Solidworks, manufacturing the parts of the rocket using machine shop instruments, and seeing their creations fly at the Jean Lake Bed!

Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) empowers students to participate and make an impact in space exploration.

SEDS helps students develop their technical and leadership skills by providing opportunities to manage and participate in national projects as well as to attend conferences, publish their work, and develop their professional network, in order to help students become more effective in their present and future careers in industry, academia, government, and education.
